H2S Detection: Prevention Control Room Corrosion

Hydrogen sulfide (H2S) is emitted as an airborne contaminant in pulp and rubber manufacturing, oil refining, steel and coke production and sewage treatment. Many companies within these industries are installing expensive computers and electronic measurement and control systems. These systems are highly susceptible to corrosion from low ppw concentrations of H2S and other acidic gases, which can quickly lead to loss of system integrity or complete system failure. Read more

Mercury Contamination

If Mercury contamination is suspected, what must be done?

The following test must be performed:

1. Enclose the suspect material in a polyethylene bag or close-fitting airtight container for eight hours at room temperature (76°F to 86°F). Or, place the bag in an oven set at 125°F (+/-5°) for one hour.

2. Make a small slit in the bag and sample the air with a mercury vapor analyzer.

3. If the mercury vapor concentration is greater than 0.01 µg/m3, the material is contaminated and will be cause for rejection.

H2S Detection

Perhaps you might be familiar with Arizona Instrument’s Jerome® H2S Analyzers, products which have been accepted locally, at the state level and nationally as well as by the EPA as the industry standard for monitoring Hydrogen Sulfide.

Our Jerome® instruments are used extensively by sewer, water and landfill industries in a variety of applications. These applications include corrosion prevention, odor, process control, and baseline determination, as well as monitoring for regulatory compliance. These instruments can detect Hydrogen Sulfide at levels as low as 3 ppb - well below the human odor threshold.

The Jerome® 631 is a portable ppb instrument perfect for spot checks, leak detection and community response. The Jerome® 651 provides stand-alone monitoring capabilities, data storage and radio communication, making it an ideal choice for perimeter monitoring and continuous testing.

Understanding hefty fines or a forced shutdown may result from non-compliance to state or federal agency sanctions, we know the Jerome® line of instrumentation has proven to help set those risks aside. If inspectors asked questions regarding your compliance, Jerome® instruments deliver the quality data you need.

I would like to talk to you about these instruments and how they can help address your needs.

Company Volleyball Tournament - March 2009

As some of you may already know, Arizona Instrument gets together once a month for a company activity. This month we chose to play volleyball. Each team had to dress alike with a common theme.

The winner was Chemical Warfare!

Of course, your sales representatives participated and had a great time too! Some pictures are posted below from our event!
