Jerome® 471 Mercury Vapor Analyzer

Trust Arizona Instrument to take care of the job!

On Friday, February 13th a number of students at a local high school brought jars of mercury to their school campus, putting the student population at risk. Arizona Instrument was part of the team that actively participated in the safe cleanup of the mercury contamination.

Hydrogen Sulfide Monitoring

Jerome® instruments are extensively used by sewer, water and landfill industries in a variety of applications including corrosion prevention, odor, process control, baseline determination, as well as monitoring for regulatory compliance. These instruments can detect Hydrogen Sulfide at levels as low as 3 ppb - well below the human odor threshold.

The Jerome® 631 is a portable ppb instrument perfect for spot checks, leak detection and community response. The Jerome® 651 provides stand-alone monitoring capabilities, data storage and radio communication, making it an ideal choice for perimeter monitoring and continuous testing.

Be proactive and avoid hefty fines or a forced shutdown. With a Jerome® instrument on your side, don't fear state or federal agency sanctions. When inspectors ask questions, Jerome® delivers the quality data you need to demonstrate that you are in compliance.

Tech Tip: Regenerate, regenerate, regenerate!

It is very important to regenerate your Jerome® J405, 431X or 631X Analyzer twice a day. Regenerating at the beginning of the day provides optimum accuracy and response of the instrument when sampling. Regenerating at the end of the day when sampling is complete will clean the Gold Film Sensor and prolong the life of your sensor.

Reminder about the Jerome® 651!

I wanted to take this opportunity to remind you about some of the great things about our Jerome® 651. It is indeed a fenceline monitoring instrument, and can be used in a variety of applications, including automated scrubber monitoring and stack monitoring. It also comes with an anemometer.

I am often times asked what the compliance levels are for fenceline monitoring, and most states are either 10 or 30 PPB, but send me an email or give me a call to find out what the exact levels are for your area! I look forward to hearing from you!

Arizona Instrument remains reliable!

We have been here since day one for a reason. Our company strives every day to produce durable, accurate, and reliable instruments for measuring the different compounds. We do this through our ISO audits and our NIST traceable procedures. This commitment has lead us to be the INDUSTRIY STANDARD for measuring H2S and Hg.

Remember it is better to be proactive when monitoring for H2S and Hg rather than being reactive to circumstances that come about down the road. Thank you for your past and future business.

Jerome®, Mercury Vapor Detection

With the proven reliability of the gold film sensor and the growing need for lower detection we came out with the Jerome® J405 model. With the detection limit able to read accurately down to 0.5 micrograms per cubic meter it meets EPA & ATSDR cleanup levels.

Once again, the J405 establishes Arizona Instrument as the leader in portable mercury vapor detection. Also, the J405 is a great alternative to UV spectroscopy for cleanup in residential areas. The J405 doesn't respond to hydrocarbons like UV technology does.

Jerome® is the better choice!

With the continuous changes in regulations and the demand for new technology, Arizona Instrument has met the demand with the new Jerome® 405 and 471 models. However, we still have a substantial base of customers who do not need the newer technology and would prefer to stick with our 431 model. We have several customers call and ask us what the future of the 431 is.

The 431 model has been a solid performer for us since 1991 and was an industry standard for many, many years. It is still a viable instrument and still holds a high value in the market today. Arizona Instrument plans to continue the manufacturing and support of the 431 for many years to come.

Arizona Instrument, Mercury Vapor Detection

The Jerome® J405 portable mercury vapor monitor is redefining the portable mercury vapor analyzer market. Significant performance enhancements and modern communications capabilities have been combined to create a new option for mercury spill detection and cleanup analysis. Like its 411 & 431X predecessors, the J405 utilizes the industry-proven, inherently stable and reliable gold film sensor technology and simple, one-button operation. The ergonomically-designed handle, lighter exterior case and significantly lower detection capabilities (0.5 μg/m3) have re-set the bar for portable and easy, low-level mercury detection instrumentation.
The larger display, on-board data logging, auto zeroing, and battery-powered sensor regeneration will simplify operation and maintenance in the field. Menu-driven programming, USB data communications and SCADA compatibility via 4-20 ma output further enhance data retrieval, storage and reporting.

"In response to concerns from one of our neighbors, a major high tech manufacturing facility, we needed to quickly implement comprehensive monitoring for hydrogen sulfide gases around the plant facility. Arizona Instrument responded immediately to our request and arranged for prompt delivery and set up of Jerome® 631 and Jerome® 651 analyzers. Technical support was also prompt and extremely helpful. The performance and data we obtained from the instruments was key in helping us to identify and effectively manage our plant processes to avoid any impact on our neighbor. We were pleased with the performance of the rental units and subsequently purchased two 631X units and one 651 fence line monitoring system. Thank you Arizona Instruments for going the extra mile in meeting our needs."
